About Geralyn Hughes, Lic. Ac.

owner of Blue Willow Acupuncture

My story.

A love of Asian philosophy, art, and culture led me to Chinese medicine. I appreciate the medicine’s beautiful connection to the ebb and flow of nature, and viewpoints on being. Many practitioners are drawn to study acupuncture and Chinese medicine due to personal positive experiences with treatment. I’m no exception.

I sought care from an acupuncturist when life-long mild depression developed into postpartum depression after my daughter was born. I was also having trouble with my digestion and losing weight. After several weeks of treatment, I noticed improvement in my digestion, however, the most profound shift was in my depression. It completely resolved.

It was then that I had the realization I needed to become an acupuncturist. I found my calling. I had to help others with this profound medicine.

Following this realization, which happened during an acupuncture treatment, I looked at my practitioner’s diploma to find the college was local!  I reached out to the school the next day, applied within the month, and began my studies.

One of the things I love about practicing is that I continue to develop my skills and knowledge by training and studying with highly esteemed teachers.

These learning experiences provide me with the opportunities to grow as a compassionate and well-rounded practitioner and human. They also keep my accreditations up to date so as to maintain my acupuncture license.

This additional training enhances my ability to help my patients heal. It is my honor, and mission, as an acupuncturist to bring this invaluable medicine to my patients.
